Nothing like starting with an interrobang…
I finished a draft of a story that… well, I don’t really know what came out of it. This is the one that started as a greenhouse concept, and I drafted it over the course of about four days. It feels like every time I stopped, I changed course.
I had to stop, mind you, because I have that whole work thing. I get in early to write, but there’s a timer running each morning.
So I’m rereading whatever it is I have here, and I feel like there might be something good buried in these 2600 words, but it needs a lot. It’s a scene more than a story, but one that has decent characters and something approaching a vibe about it. Maybe?
I need to stop doing this is what it comes down to. I need to stop writing these vague pieces that don’t have a ton of motive behind them. I need to edit. I need to take some of these 40 pieces that are in draft and get them all the way through to publication-ready. It’s a whole thing.
Which means putting my Freewrite away for a bit, pulling out this here laptop, and getting things the way they need to be.
Aspirational, that.
What Was That?!
